Hi Andrus,

Is there a tag for 3.0B1?  I see the branch for ongoing 3.0
development, but I can't find the 3.0B1 tag.

Of course. See my "branches, tags" email from yesterday.

Argh.  My fault for not clicking the links.  The tag isn't showing up
in the git repo I pulled this morning.  I guess I'll just go back to
using SVN for now.

Sorry for that.

Hmm . . . and now I do see it in the git repo.   I guess I'm just
having a bad morning.  Again, apologies for the inattention.

I'll drop the jars into my .m2 directory as M6 and test with the
application I'm currently developing.  Should know if it looks good
later on today or early tomorrow.

Thanks Andrus,

mrg

PS. I'm going to vote for 3.1 that H2 is dumped in CM.  I just had to
use Time Machine to restore my preferences...again.  (Not the B1 CM,
but I don't think it'll be better in that department.)

In fact since I am actively using CM JNDI hack, I'd love us start
using java standard preferences store. This way I won't have to create
optional profiles to include cayenne-modeler.jar for local work.

Well, speaking of the CM JNDI hack ... that's exactly what is breaking for
me currently in B1 (it can't load my preferences from M6, I guess):

Perhaps I need to recreate the preferences settings for B1?

Thanks,

I have it too. This is not stable error, though. I've fixed one such bug not
long ago (rev. 818402). Likely that's again something related to HashMap
iteration order or something

I re-created my preferences DB and it didn't help.  Switched back to M6 and
it works again.  Not sure if this is really indicative of an issue, though.

I finally solved my 3.0B1 CM JNDI issues and my application is running
again.  I'll test/develop with it all day and see how 3.0B1 works for me.
Maybe even change a few things (like use deleteObjects() and make sure it
really works).  I'll check back in later ...

Thanks.  This further supports Andrey's theory that it's a
non-specified ordering issue.  I should be able to fix it tonight.

For my use cases, everything seems to be working perfectly for me in B1.  I
even updated my code to use the new ObjectContext deleteObjects() and the
new SortOrder enums and tested.  No problems here (Java 1.5/OS X).

+1

Thanks!

One smallish issue. When it opened my model, it 'upgraded' it from version 3.0 to 3.0.0.1. What is the versioning scheme we are using here? Why 3.0.0.1? How does that relate to the XSD schema which is currently set to version 3.0. Here is the only change made by the modeller when opening a model previously saved with M6...

  <data-map xmlns="http://cayenne.apache.org/schema/3.0/modelMap"
    xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
-  xsi:schemaLocation="http://cayenne.apache.org/schema/3.0/modelMap http://cayenne.apache.org/schema/3.0/modelMap"
-  project-version="3.0">
+  xsi:schemaLocation="http://cayenne.apache.org/schema/3.0/modelMap http://cayenne.apache.org/schema/3.0/modelMap.xsd"
+  project-version="3.0.0.1">
